In order to establish a 501(c)(3), a portion of the requirements to submit an application is to have a board of directors. Therefore, I needed to consider leadership candidates that would be able to fill in the positions of secretary and treasurer of the organization.
This is important because in order to be a fully functional organization, there needs to be a leadership team that is able to administer expectations to the volunteers/members as well as focus on the managerial aspects to ensure the continuation of the organization.
However, not just any people can fill these positions because an organization would need committed leaders in order to ensure that all the expectations and roles are being dutifully upheld.
For this reason, I would need to find individuals who I know to be trustworthy and dedicated to organizations that they devote their time into. It is important that those who fill these roles recognize that it is a great responsibility and that they need to have a personal connection and reason to want to support the organization. Not only do they need to fill the role, but they would also need to align with the organization’s mission and morals.
