I have recently been working on accumulating my work in preparation for a gallery walk of my ISM work up to the creation of my original work, and it has led me to ponder what portions of my research should be showcased.
In an effort to save my board from unnecessary clutter I need to consider which pieces of research best represented my journey and focus during ISM, so onlookers could get a brief but thorough understanding of my motives and the value of my topic. When it comes to cutting down, however, I often struggle as it is difficult for me to let go of certain information in fear that I may be taking away from a more cohesive understanding. However, I must be conscientious of the attention span of visitors who want to learn about the beef of a situation rather than the little details. Therefore, I am taking greater consideration into the most attention grabbing aspects of my work so far as to not bore the audience with extra unnecessary information.
Another concern that I have come across includes any search for a mentor whose absence may detract from the overall credibility of my research. However, this is a continuing pursuit that I will look forward to rather than worry about because every effort I make to find a professional in this niche field solidifies my determination to grow it for the future.
